In the 160-metre-long Gradierhaus, a 26-percent alpine brine mixed with water from the Alte Saline sprinkles the blackthorn fields. In doing so, water evaporates, and the resulting water droplets (aerosols) can be used for inhalation. Walks of about 30 minutes on the side of the Gradierhaus facing away from the wind are ideal for healthy breathing. As a result, the upper airways are noticeably cleaned, and the immune system is strengthened.

Relaxation and tranquillity in the Wandelhalle

The Wandelhalle is connected to the Gradierhaus with the alpine brine fountain made of red marble. The room invites you to linger and relax. From there, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the attractive garden. The Kaiser Karl fountain allows guests to gargle and rinse with 0.5 to 0.7 percent alpine brine. This counteracts a sore throat and runny nose.

The first spa band played in Bad Reichenhall in 1868. The current orchestra of the spa town has more than 350 performances all year round. Their repertoire includes more than 500 different pieces of music ranging from pop music to musicals.

A landscape park with a special history

The spa garden was already artfully laid out in the year 1868 by the then Bavarian court gardener Carl von Effner. The park has been the worthy setting for magnificent buildings for many years.
