An exciting trip into the deep
The residents of Bad Reichenhall are proud of their highly effective alpine brine. Therefore, they offer impressive tours to the source of the spring. You go down deep into an underground tunnel system that is as mystical as it is impressive. At the end of the tour, visitors are given a surprise: water wheels 13 metres in height, which have been transporting alpine brine to the surface since 1834. The water bell: it emits its characteristic ringing sound through the tunnels after every rotation of the wheels, which tells the visitors that it is not far to the spring.
